Emergency Room

Lucy made her debut appearance at the ER last night after she shoved a piece of corn from our yummy July 4th dinner up her nose. After several unsuccessful attempts at retrieval with a pair of tweezers I admitted defeat and packed us up and headed to the ER. Luckily, the ER wasn't busy so we got right in. The doc tried to dig the corn out with a pair of hemostats (read: medical tweezers) then the nurse suggested we try to blow it out. So the doc pinched the unaffected nostril closed then I blew in Lucy's mouth. Sure enough that corn shot right out! We all cheered and Lucy beamed like she had done something extraordinary.

Lewis had a bean stuck up his nose by a friend toddler and went through a similiar process. Guess getting something stuck up your nose is a part of growing up!

Another milestone Lucy!!! Better a corn kennel than a lima bean! ;>)

Wes' experiment in nose stuffing was a lego--luckily for me when he was in Aunt Brenda's care and I was at work. Like father, like daughter.

By the way, Lucy was incredibly calm thru the whole ER episode--I was amazed.
