Blog Neglect

I have been neglecting the blog.  FB is too easy- i blame FB and it's probably somehow Wes's fault too.  We haven't been up to anything earth shattering or even cool.  Lucy loves school and I did have my first ever teacher conference a couple of weeks ago.  That was a surreal experience.  Parent-teacher conference and I was invited?  Ok, but which grown-up is going to come with me?  I got all weird and nervous about it.  I stressed over what I would wear.  I was twenty minutes early and I seriously considered baking cookies and taking them with me. I was able to suppress the cookie baking urge, but I was unable to stop myself from saying things like "Lucy is the best, we're really proud of her."  Her teacher was trying to have a serious conversation with me about Lucy's social and academic progress and I kept saying things like "It really is amazing how she almost stayed completely in the lines when she was coloring those mittens."  "I know she can't zip a zipper, but that's MY fault because I always do it for her.  We'll practice it at home, she'll have it down soon."

Her teacher says Lucy is doing great.  She is meeting all her milestones and gets along well socially.  She said that Lucy is well behaved and obviously does not like to get into trouble or be corrected (she gets that from me).  My proudest moment was when she said she can always count on Lucy to pull in the shy kid or the kid that is outside the group.  Sure she can write her own name and practically read, but she is also KIND.  I thought maybe this was the case, but having a unbiased third party proclaim it was great.  I almost burst.

I am a totally annoying, but luckily Lucy is practically perfect in everyway.
