Busy Week

This week Lucy's social calendar was full. On Thursday her friend Maddie can all the way from Canton to play and go to lunch. Maddie is starting to walk and the girls enjoyed taking toys from one another and pulling out each other's hairbows (ok so Lucy pulled Maddie's out). At lunch Maddie introduced Lucy to goldfish- which were a huge hit. Lucy's uncle Andrew likes goldfish too so it must be genetic. On Friday I had to work until 11pm so Mimsy and Grand Dad picked Lucy up from daycare. Lucy was running a fever on Friday afternoon, which scared Mommy, but her babysitter gave her Tylenol and Mimsy and Grand dad gave her Ibuprofen (which she thinks is delicious) four hours later and she never missed a beat. We think she had a little ear infection. She hasn't had a fever since Saturday morning and is acting like her regular self so we figure the crisis is averted. On Saturday we all went to Ikea and Mimsy played with Lucy in the backseat on the way. There were pompoms back there from the pictures we had made with Haden so Mimsy enjoyed seeing what Lucy would look like with a bright red afro. On Sunday Lucy got her very first toothbrush. I've been using a finger brush, but I got tired of being bitten. She has 8 teeth (4 top 4 bottom) and is not afraid to use them. She seems to like her toothbrush. I have to work on Labor Day so Lucy is looking forward to spending the day with her Granny and she hopes all of her blog fans have a great holiday!

Nine Months Old

Well, she's not quite nine months old yet- another week to go, but we went ahead and had some pics made. I just love this one because you can see her little belly and check out those legs! We are so blessed that Lucy is such a happy baby. She is pulling up and cruising a little bit now. Yesterday she stood on her own without holding on to anything for about 2 seconds so it won't be long before she's doing it on a regular basis. The last nine months have been full of miracles and magic.

GOOOOOOO DAWGS!!!

Football season is about to kick off so we celebrated by going to Athens to visit Haden and we got some pics made to show off our team spirit! These are two future Bulldogs in the making. We have had a great time in Athens (as usual) and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Sweetest girl baby

Here is a story from last week. I had picked plumpy up on a rainy day from baby sitter. The sitter also mentioned that she had hardly napped at all. There was lots of traffic so we were in car for a while and she fell asleep (as babies often do in the car). But I also had to get something for dinner at the grocery store. With her soundly sleeping and it raining, i considered leaving her in the car, but I'm told this is illegal so I got a buggy and put her in it in the car seat. As the rain fell on her and woke her up she scrunched up and made an evil face and I thought she was going to wail. But after about 10 seconds she looked at me and started laughing.

Lucy and Mama

This is my favorite picture of me and Lucy from our vacation. It was a rainy day so we were hanging out on the front porch of our Inn watching the rain and passersby. Tomorrow it's back to work for me so this is a last salute to a wonderful vacation. I think Wes will probably post a whole bunch of pics in an album from the vacation later today or tomorrow.

Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe

Plumpy had breakfast @ Charlies in Boston which must be in the guidebooks or something. I used to pass this place every day going to / from class but I never ate there. But apparently it's famous.

Who needs whales?

We went whale watching in Bar Harbor Maine today. The whales were being shy though so we mostly watched seals- which was cool in its own right, but not whales. Lucy fell asleep on her Papa's lap at the very beginning then he passed her to me after awhile. She hasn't slept in my arms like that in months so I spent my time Lucy watching. She was so beautiful. Soft long eyelashes lying on her smooth porcelain cheeks. I took stock of the tiny blond hairs on her forhead and the paint strokes that are her eyebrows. Her pink little lips pursed and fluttered in her dreams. I felt the warmth of her tiny body in my arms and thought to myself- who needs whales?

Plumpy's Lobster Dinner

La luz is sick of lobster. She ha4 eaten so many! But she does recommend Thurston's lobster pound because the staff are her friends.
